90 Day Tithe Challenge

Tithing is about love, obedience, and trust. Because of our love relationship with God, we are willing to do what He asks. But tithing is still a “faith-step of obedience”. Many times it may seem like the math just doesn’t add up, but that’s where faith comes in.

God specifically asks us to trust Him with the tithe and when we do, He promises to bless us. If it’s time to activate your faith, click below to begin the 90-Day Tithe Challenge.

Take the Challenge!

Take your next step towards obedience and generosity. Tithe for 90 days and see how God blesses your life!

The Basics of Tithing

First! Pray that God gives you faith to obey Him. After all, tithing is a heart issue. When we do what God says, we live a life of obedience to His plan. When we align ourselves with the Creator, His will is done in our lives.

God says in Malachi 3:10 that we should test Him in this! And when we do, He will pour out His blessings in our lives!

Second, we should obey Him. Obedience is an action. The tithe means a “tenth” and through many examples in the Bible we see that God asks those who love Him to show Him through the sacrifice of the first 10 percent of everything we gain and give it to Him. The writer in Hebrews 11:4 says, Abel gave a more excellent gift because it was the first fruits of the harvest.

So, practically, what can we do to make tithing a habit of our lives? We can do a monthly budget and add the tithe as the first expense. Make it a priority and give to God 10% of your income off the top! An easy way to do that is to automate your giving online

Go ahead! I dare you. Take God at His word. Begin tithing and watch Him bless your life beyond what you can dream!

Frequently Asked Questions

Tithe literally means a tenth. It is the first 10% of your income, set apart as holy, it belongs to the Lord, and is brought to the local church.

Our main motivation to tithe should be simple obedience to God. He commands us to tithe, but also invites us to trust Him, test Him, and prove Him through our obedience.

If we trust Him with the tithe, His promise to us is to ‘open the windows of heaven’ and pour out blessings we can’t contain. Our love for God should lead to obedience and trust.

The Bible references the Tithe and “First Fruits” many times. Here are a few references to get you started:

Proverbs 3:9

Malachi 3:10

Luke 11:42

The tithe (the first 10% of our income) belongs to the Lord. The Bible also talks about offerings that are given above and beyond the tithe.

Through Kingdom Builders giving, we generously bring offerings to support to projects and partnerships that spread the message of Jesus around the world and introduce people to the Kingdom of God. Monthly missionary support, major projects and strategic initiatives in countries closed to the gospel are all ways that we globally invest in God’s Kingdom.

An easy way of putting God first in our finances as a “first fruits” offering to God is to bring the tithe ‘first’ or off the top when you receive your paycheck. If your pay is consistent, it is easy to set up recurring giving online. Another suggestion is that when you make a budget, set the tithe as the first of your expenses taken out each month.

A full tithe is the first 10% of all your ‘increase’ or income. That means it should be calculated and given before taxes, insurance, retirement, and other deductions are removed from your income amount.

We encourage parents to teach their kids early about tithing and giving to God 10% of their income. That can look different before a child has a job, but ultimately modeling and teaching the principle of tithing even on a weekly allowance will help position your child for a lifetime of obedience and blessing.

There are many ways to give at Realife Church, including a check or cash
given in the offering bucket, online giving through the website or app, text-to-
give, or contributions of stock, land or other assets.
See Realifechurch.org/give for more information.

Money from the tithes of the church fund the normal operations of the church. These include facilities costs, utilities, payroll, and all ministry expenses.
