Numbers 13:1-2
The Lord now said to Moses, ‘Send out men to explore the land of Canaan, the land I am giving to the Israelites.’

Numbers 13:25-29
After exploring the land for forty days, the men returned to Moses, Aaron, and the whole community… They reported… ‘The land you sent us to explore is indeed bountiful, flowing with milk and honey. But the people living there are powerful, and their towns are large and fortified. We even saw giants there!’

Every decision you make based on fear will not be in accordance with God’s will.

Fear vs. Faith:

1. Fear is Paralyzing

Numbers 13:31
But the other men who had explored the land with him disagreed. ‘We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than we are!’

Fear is expecting the devil to move. Faith is expecting God to move.

2. Fear is Pervasive

Numbers 13:32-33
So they spread this bad report about the land among the Israelites… ‘The land we traveled through will devour anyone who goes to live there… Next to them we felt like grasshoppers, and that’s what they thought, too!’

3. Faith is Powerful

Numbers 13:30
But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. ‘Let’s go at once to take the land,’ he said. ‘We can certainly conquer it!’

2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

4. Faith is Positive

Numbers 14:7-9:
“The land we traveled through and explored is a wonderful land! If the Lord is pleased with us, he will bring us safely into that land and give it to us… don’t be afraid of the people of the land. They are only helpless prey to us! They have no protection, but the Lord is with us!”

5. Faith is Pleasing to God

Hebrews 11:6:
And it is impossible to please God without faith.

Numbers 14:8
“And if the Lord is pleased with us, he will bring us safely into that land and give it to us…”

Fear focuses on the problem, but faith focuses on the promise.

Step into the Land God Has Promised.

Fear will keep you out of the Promised Land, but faith will take you in.
