As followers of Jesus, we know we’re not supposed to sin, but why? Why is sin bad? If you’re not a follower of Jesus, you may be thinking... what’s the big deal with sin? That’s God for you... A big list of rules. A bunch of do’s & don’ts. But there’s more to it than that. We serve a God who loves us, cares for us, and wants the best for us. In this message, Pastor Adam discusses what the Bible says about sin, why it's bad, and its consequences.

1. What is Sin?
Romans 3:23 NIV
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
James 4:17 NLT
Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.
Sin is any action or inaction that misses the mark of God’s standards.
2. Why is Sin Bad?
Sin hurts Others.
Sin hurts You.
Proverbs 8:35-36
For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the LORD. But those who miss me injure themselves.
Psalms 19:7-8
The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living.
Sin hurts God.
3. What are the Consequences of Sin?
Genesis 2:16-17
But the LORD God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden— except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.”
Numbers 32:23
You may be sure that your sin will find you out.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death.
