Romans 7:14-24
The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin. I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?

1. It is not okay to hide it.

James 5:16
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.

2. It’s not ok to justify it.

Matthew 7:3
“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?”

1 John 3:9
Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.

Romans 7:25
Let the rivers clap their hands in glee! Let the hills sing out their songs of joy before the LORD.

Psalms 47:1
Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord.

1. Accept Jesus

2. Embrace Grace

Romans 8:1
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

3. Live Led

Romans 8:6
So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

4. Don’t Quit

Romans 8:23
And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering.
