Proverbs 3:9 NKJV

Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine. 

Tithe – the first 10% of your income, set apart as holy, it belongs to the Lord, brought to the church.

Hearts that drift away from God stop tithing. Hearts that move towards God tithe. 

Matthew 6:21

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 

Malachi 3:7-10

Yet from the days of your fathers you have gone away from My ordinances and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” Says the LORD of hosts. “But you said, ‘In what way shall we return?’ 8 “Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, even this whole nation. 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house…” 

1. YOU’RE NOT ON YOUR OWN. 

Malachi 3:10

And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. 

God loves first fruit faith. 

2. GOD HOLDS OFF THE DEVOURER. 

Malachi 3:11

“And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” 

2 Corinthians 8:7

Since you excel in so many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us—I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving. 

3. YOU BECOME A BLESSING 

Malachi 3:12

and all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land,” says the LORD of hosts. 

 

Tithing is something that God desires FOR me not FROM me.
