Putting on Compassion – One Day to Feed the World

March 8, 2026

Message Description
Compassion isn’t just something we feel. It’s something we wear. In Colossians 3, we’re called to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. When compassion becomes part of who we are, it changes how we see the world. We begin to notice the people others overlook. We move toward need instead of away from it. That’s the heart behind One Day to Feed the World. It’s a simple idea with a powerful impact. When each of us does what we can, together we help bring food, hope, and dignity to people who often feel invisible. Jesus didn’t ignore need. He stepped toward it. And when we do the same, even small acts of generosity can make a real difference. How is God prompting you to show compassion in a practical way this week?

Message Notes

One Day to Feed the World

It helps us see the people who feel invisible.

Colossians 3:12
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

This isn’t: “I feel bad for them.”

This is: “I can’t sit still until I help them.”

1. Make compassion the first thing people see when they look at you. Wear compassion like a coat.

Mark 6:34

Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.

2. When we wear Compassion, we see those that the world overlooks.

When we feed a child, Scripture says—we feed Jesus.

3. Compassion doesn’t run from crisis; it runs toward crisis.

I love how God has the ability to pick a nobody to be a somebody, in front of everybody, without consulting anybody!

Psalm 112:4–5

Light shines in the darkness for the godly. They are generous, compassionate, and righteous. 5Good comes to those who lend money generouslyand conduct their business fairly.

We GET to wear Compassion!

Everybody can do something.  That’s what ONE DAY TO FEED THE WORLD IS!
