Taste and See

October 13, 2024
Daniel Gray
Message Description
There are going to be times when you are in a place just like David - a dark place, a desolate place, a lonely place. Even when it doesn't look good, you can say that you have tasted and seen before that the Lord is good. In this message, Pastor Daniel Gray - Lead Pastor at Chapelhill Douglasville - looks at Psalm 34:8, and how we can apply it to our own lives to remember the goodness of God when we are walking through a storm.

Message Notes

Psalm 34:8 KJV
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Psalm 34:8 AMP
O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good; How blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who takes refuge in Him.

John 6:53-56 NIV
Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.

Luke 5:5-8 NIV
Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” 6 When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. 7 So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink. 8 When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!”

Luke 5:9-11 NIV
For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, 10 and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners. Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.” 11 So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.
